One hour challenge: Use fabric on your layout

Using fabric on your scrapbook pages is a great way to add texture. Here are a few ideas to try.

Add fabric flowers to your layout to create a soft, feminine feel.

Lovely Girl by Kim Watson , as seen in Scrapbooking Tips & Tricks: Texture, page 78.

Ruffle organza to add a dreamy feel to your story. Soft pleats are perfect for borders and flowers.

Starts Here by Piradee Talvanna , as seen in Scrapbooking Tips & Tricks: Texture, page 83.

Create a cute fabric banner. Just cut several triangles and connect with ribbon. You can hand or machine stitch it in place, or used adhesive.

Cutie Pie by Kim Watson , as seen in Scrapbooking Tips & Tricks: Texture, page 85.

For more more ideas on using fabric for scrapbooking, check out this article by Mou Saha. Note: This article is exclusively for Club CK premium members. To learn more about the benefits of Club CK premium membership (only $19.95 a year!) and to sign up, read here.

In the next 60 minutes, complete a layout with fabric.  By participating, you'll use up your stash, complete a project, or even have the chance to win one of two random scrapbooking prizes.

You have 60 minutes to complete the project. At the end of the 60 minutes, photograph or scan your project, and upload the image to the Club CK gallery (learn how to upload your project here). Then leave a comment below with the URL link to your page by 8:15 p.m. MST today. For example, your comment could look like this: "My page is posted here: http://clubcreatingkeepsakes.com/media/p/31086.aspx." One winner will be randomly selected who participates in the live challenge.

Note: If you're new to Club CK, you'll need to create a free account here in order to be able to upload your project. I suggest registering now so your account will be active by the time you complete your project.

If you can't join us for the live challenge, you can still enter to win! The second prize will be awarded to one randomly selected person who leaves the URL link to his or her page in the comments section below by 9:00 a.m MST, Monday, March 14. The winners will be announced at the bottom of this article.

Congrats to Kelly  who was the randomly selected winner.  To claim your prize, look for a conversation from Erika H in the My Conversations section of your My Profile page.

I really liked this, and just kept finding more "fabric" stuff to add :-) The back ground is calico fabric over cardstock. Here's mine: clubcreatingkeepsakes.com/.../536470.aspx

I actually changed the position of the "adore" plate to near the lower left corner flower after I uploaded this, so i will try to edit in the new picture, but was afraid I'd miss the time of the computer acts up! Lol!

Here is mine!  I pleated the fabric and used a stapler, since I don't own a sewing machine and wouldn't know what to do with it if I did!  Thank goodness for staplers and hot glue!!  :)

I'm late too but still wanted to post here.  I used fabric & pinched it together & then stapled to make it look rippled!  The polka-dot bow is off the Peter the Rabbit from Easter morning.

This was my first time doing a one hour challenge.  I took these pictures this morning.  I printed the photos, desinged the LO and created it in 30 minutes.  That was a first for me.  I typical take hours!  Thanks for stretching me.  You'll find my LO link below.

I just realized I never posted my layout so here it is. I was really excited for this challenge; I got to use some adhesive-backed fabric strips that I've had forever! I wish the pictures were of better quality, but I was using a borrowed camera that I had no idea how to work. LOL
